Stronger Community Television in Albert Park

A re-elected Andrews Labor Government will support Channel 31 to keep providing a platform for creators and communities to make great locally produced media.

We’ll provide a $50,000 grant to support them to continue to provide a great studio space and platform for creators of all kinds, so locally produced media can thrive.

For years, Channel 31 has supported thousands of creators and community members delivering programs for Victorians from multicultural backgrounds, streams of live music, lifestyle programming and so much more.

Funding from a Labor Government will make sure they are well-equipped to continue their important work – elevating the voices of Victorians from all walks of life.

It builds on the massive investments in community support already delivered by the Labor Government, ensuring neighbourhoods have accessible wellbeing and support services close to home.

In sharp contrast, when it comes to delivering the vital support that organisations in our community rely on, the Liberals can’t be trusted. Instead, their policy of cuts and closures would leave locals behind.

Only a re-elected Labor Government will back the community organisations that keep our community strong – because only Labor will do what matters.

“These days, Channel 31 supports creators of all skill-levels across a range of different platforms. It helps build community and provides a voice for those who otherwise may not have them. I’m proud to support them with this pledge.”
