We're backing Victorian live music.

Victoria is the home of live music.

Some of Australia's (and the world's) biggest artists started off in small venues and bars right here.

That's why we're backing artists and venues with a live music package that will support 10,000 gigs across Victoria.

A re-elected Andrews Labor Government will provide up to $1,000 to artists to perform at our great live local music venues.

We'll put $2.5 million into a Live Music Major Events Fund - providing grants of up to $50,000 for Victorian music festivals - big and small.

And to make sure the investments are enjoyed by the whole state - 25 percent of gigs and festivals will be in regional Victoria.

Victoria's iconic Always Live statewide music festival will be extended - ensuring that we can continue to attract big music acts from across the world.

We'll also back our live music venues by creating a cultural precinct overly - to protect venues and our music heritage.

This will let venues get back to the business of staging music, and let fans enjoy music for longer.

We're the music capital - and we're keeping it that way.
