More young Victorians will get the chance to develop their leadership skills and give back to their local community with a re-elected Andrews Labor Government to help upgrade the Healesville Scout Hall.

The whole community will benefit with Scouts Victoria to manage and maintain the hall, which will also be available for local activities and events such as dance classes, community theatre rehearsals, birthday parties and fitness classes.

A re-elected Labor Government will provide $7,500 to upgrade the hall’s facilities, with Scouts Victoria to match this funding with community partners.

More than a million young Victorians have participated in Scouts since 1907, with a growing membership.

These organisations are the heartbeat of our communities, giving young people the opportunity to get outdoors, have fun and develop resilience and teamwork skills.

Only Labor will build and upgrade community halls around the state to make sure local Scout Groups have the facilities they need for generations to come.

“Scouts give kids the chance to make friends, learn new skills and develop leadership skills – these grants will help them grow and reach more young Victorians.”
