A re-elected Andrews Labor Government will upgrade the Euroa Golf Club, to make sure more golfers can tee off to even greater heights.

Golf in Victoria contributes $883 million to the state’s economy and supports 6,900 jobs. More than 300,000 Victorians play golf at more than 350 courses across the state and we want to extend our reputation as the golfing capital of Australia.

In four short years we’ve hosted the World Cup of Golf and will host it again this week. We’ve secured the 2020 and 2022 Australian Open golf tournaments, and we’ve secured the 2019 Presidents Cup – the third time we’ve hosted this prestigious tournament.

But we want to help more golf clubs across Victoria expand and grow, and attract even more people to the sport.

If re-elected we will invest $66,000 to renovate the clubhouse and locker rooms at Euroa Golf Club.

We’ll also provide $160,000 over four years for four golf industry scholarships per year – these will cover golf journalism, golf professional, women’s greenkeeper and golf course designer scholarships.

Only Labor will help grow the sport of golf right across Victoria, and ensure golfers are playing on the very best courses and can enjoy the very best facilities.
