LIBERALS TO SHORT CHANGE CRANBOURNE AGAIN

The Victorian Liberals and Nationals have now confirmed they will cut services, privatise assets, sack workers and stop building the infrastructure Cranbourne needs.

They have revealed a massive $39 billion budget black hole and secret plans to cut services and sack workers on the eve of the state election.

The Liberals costings show that they have budgeted $52.5 million for the Berwick-Cranbourne Rd duplication, well short of the $130 million the Liberals have promised.

The Liberals have also revealed a $180 million funding shortfall on the promised Clyde rail extension.

They have ruled out borrowing, tax increases and value capture – meaning they can only pay for their commitments by sacking workers, closing schools and hospitals and cutting services that Victorians rely on.

Labor is already fixing Thompsons Road, early works have started on the Hallam Road upgrade, and we’re widening the Monash and removing dangerous and congested level crossings.

The last time the Liberals were in power they didn’t deliver a single new arterial road in Cranbourne – and if elected, they’d do the same again, already slashing funding they’ve committed for Berwick Cranbourne Road by almost $80 million.

If they’re breaking election commitments before being elected, how can they be trusted to deliver this project?

Labor will keep standing up against Liberal cuts and closures – and continue our record as a government for hardworking families, not corporations.

Only Labor has a fully-costed, fully-funded plan that delivers for all Victorians.

“Only Labor has a fully-costed, fully-funded plan that delivers for all Victorians.”

Quotes attributable to Candidate for Cranbourne Pauline Richards

“We all know the legacy of Liberal National Governments is one of cuts and closures.”

“Whether it’s the massive Thompsons Road Upgrade, removing dangerous and congested level crossings or delivering Free TAFE – only Labor will deliver the services that our community needs.”
