The Victoria Street Lunar Festival will be bigger and better than ever before, under a re-elected Andrews Labor Government.

Minister for Planning and Member for Richmond Richard Wynne, today announced that the festival will be supported with $150,000 over three years by a re-elected Andrews Labor Government, giving the Victoria Street Business Association the funding certainty they need for the festival to go from strength to strength.

The Victoria Street Lunar Festival is an annual celebration of the Lunar New Year, organised by the Victoria Street Business Association, a not-for-profit association of traders on Victoria Street.

Our state is home to a strong and proud Vietnamese community, with the 2016 Census showing that 103,430 Victorians speak Vietnamese at home.

The announcement builds on the Andrews Labor Government’s $1.4 million boost in the 2018/19 Budget to the Multicultural Festivals and Events program.

Only Labor will stand with our state’s proud multicultural communities, and only Labor is willing to make the investments that really matter.
