BETTER ACCESS TO PUBLIC TRANSPORT FOR CARRUM COMMUTERS

It will be easier for Carrum commuters to find a car park and access their station with a re-elected Andrews Labor Government to build more car parking and deliver a second entrance at Seaford Station.

Whether it’s building more car parking or removing dangerous and congested level crossings, only Labor will make it safer and easier for locals in Melbourne’s south-east to get where they need to go.

We’ve removed level crossings in Carrum to allow more trains to run and stop drivers from getting stuck at boom gates, and there are more to go with more to come, we’ve built the Karrum Karrum Bridge

There’s more to do and only Labor will deliver a better Seaford Station as part of Labor’s $150 million Carparks for Commuters Fund.

To improve accessibility at the station, a Labor Government will add a new entrance from the car park at Seaford Station with additional myki readers and better access for people with a disability.

Labor’s Car Parks for Commuters Fund will see 11,000 new and upgraded car parks being built at some of our busiest metropolitan and regional train stations.

With around 55,000 station spaces currently across the state, the investment will see a 20 per cent bump in available parking.

The additional 11,000 spaces are on top of the close to 10,000 new and upgraded spaces built by the Andrews Labor Government over the past four years, and is expected to create and support over 400 jobs.

While the former Liberal Government failed to invest in our state’s growing suburbs cutting funding for schools, hospitals, road and rail – only Labor can be trusted to deliver the big projects local communities really need.

“Whether it’s removing level crossings on the Frankston line to run more trains more often or building new car parks, only Labor will get Victorians home safer and sooner.”

“I have been campaigning strongly for upgrades at Seaford Station and only Labor will upgrade car parking, build a second entrance, increase lighting and install CCTV to make the station safer.”

“Whether it’s removing level crossings to run more trains more often, building the Karrum Karrum Bridge, only Labor can deliver the public transport system our community needs.”
