Families in Prahran will be able to rely on great local sporting facilities, with a re-elected Andrews Labor Government to deliver $3 million towards Prahran Cricket Club.

Under a re-elected Labor Government, Prahran Cricket Club will have the facilities to train, win and grow with this commitment towards the Oval Masterplan including the installation of broadcast standard lighting, oval resurfacing and much needed female friendly change rooms.

The upgrade will mean more games, more often with both the men’s and women’s teams able to play and train at night.

With new lighting and a better path from a re-elected Labor Government, local clubs – and this local community – will have the great sporting facilities they deserve.

The commitment builds on the Andrews Labor Government’s investments in local and community sport, including new cricket nets at Alma Park and $25 million delivered towards the massive upgrade at Junction Oval.

While the Liberals cut funding for hospitals and schools, and closed TAFE campuses – only Labor will invest in the projects our community really needs.

The Labor Government has made the biggest investment in grassroots sporting opportunities in Victoria’s history, with $420 million dedicated to community sports.
